Role Summary: The Buyer negotiates with dedicated providers according to specific policies and commodity strategies, to achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. In this role you will required to use your experience to solve the problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Achieve lowest possible cost for materials/services, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
Solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations; implement purchase contracts following applicable company and government regulations
Evaluate current and anticipated requirements, determine potential sources, obtain bids, and plan programs to meet business needs
Responsible for assigned commodities to meet the requirements of the business
Perform continual market analysis and monitor supplier progress
Coordinate training of suppliers to accomplish business initiatives
Coordination procurement of assigned commodities to meet the requirements of GE
Coordinate, help direct, as well as perform, all required functions from initiation of an intent to purchase through to satisfactory delivery of material or services
Assure that material/services will be delivered on schedule, at negotiated price and meet required quality standards
Initiate necessary action to assure best value is received, customer delivery requirements are met, and address any manufacturing problems at supplier’s facility
Provide coordination and leadership in procurement activities for assigned commodities
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or a high school diploma
Experience with Suppliers and/or Clients (ability to build strong business relationships/partnerships)
Influencing and negotiation skills
Cross functional experience working with production, engineering, quality & administrative departments
