Role Summary:
In this role, you will be a certification engineer who enjoys work certification authorities and product engineers. You will be instrumental in the generation and rollout of certification processes for the new AIRXOS venture. You will coordinate the systems and software certification efforts for autonomous vehicles as well as regulatory compliance oversight for software.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Determine certification strategy and certification basis of operations and products
  • Assist in the development certification processes and procedures necessary for autonomous vehicles
  • Plan compliance activities and determination of means of compliance
  • Interpret regulatory material and determine project impact
  • Provide certification direction to development and verification teams
  • Audit project / product artifacts and verification activities to assess compliance with the certification basis
  • Assess changes to approved / certified products to determine whether minor or major
  • Generate certification documentation
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Participate in relevant industry standards committees, working groups, and conferences


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 7 years of aviation certification experience: systems (ARP4754/4761 or ASTM) or software development (DO-178/278)
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

    Desired Characteristics:
    • Experience in existing automated systems, hardware and / or software
    • Experience in leading technical discussions with customers to document requirements
    • High aptitude for problem solving
    • MATLAB Simulink experience
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Technological proficiency, including relevant engineering tools
    • Ability to successfully work in a team environment
    • Participation / experience on related industry committee activities
