Role Summary:
The Global Product Marketing Leader will be responsible for defining, developing and delivering on GE Cell Culture BioProcess marketing strategy and activities. This includes voice of customers (VOC) gathering & marketing plan development, formulating a targeted value proposition & tailoring the geographic marketing mix.



Essential Responsibilities:
The role will contribute to growth by facilitating & executing the marketing plans, new product development & current portfolio evolution. He/She will also develop qualitative & quantitative customer insights.



Participate in defining marketing strategy for upstream bioprocessing

  • Generate market insights through VOC feedback, monitoring industry associations activity and market research reports
  • Understand customers’ needs as well as values and benefits sought for the product/service offering, define global customer segmentation
  • Maintain information on the competitive landscape in order to strategically position the product portfolio
  • Identify market and adjacent opportunities, integrate competitive intelligence into marketing plan
  • Research, identify and develop unique digital tools/interfaces
  • Contribute to market forecasts and business cases for product/upgrades that are at concept stage and develop price-value map trends

Develop and deliver cell culture marketing content

  • Implement global segmentation strategy and support the development of global marketing plan and value proposition
  • Assess portfolio competitiveness and drive clear product positioning via the execution of marketing communications plans
  • Manage processes and programs to increase customer awareness, preference and purchase intent (e.g., lead generation campaigns)
  • Take ownership of R&D product application studies, collect ideas from the fields, prioritize projects, and collaborate closely with R&D to execute content (e.g. application notes)
  • Develop and drive launch of content for new product introductions in collaboration with product management, R&D and regional commercial and marketing teams
  • Align with product management, field marketing and modality teams to deliver the marketing content globally and within each region
  • Work with modality teams and product & field marketing to support regional product positioning, training materials, and other tools required for execution of growth objectives
  • Monitor metrics and operating mechanisms to ensure achievement of business objectives (e.g. lead generation programs, Customer Capability Days, etc)


Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing or related field in the life sciences
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical and process skills
  • Team oriented – ability to work well with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Innovation – ability to develop/execute on new ideas through collaboration
  • Strong drive- ability to work independently and run projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams


Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Science, Marketing, Business Administration or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing, consulting or related field in the life sciences
  • Healthcare and biopharmaceutical product/industry acumen, preferably in cell culture
  • Marketing experience in market & customer insights, product commercialization and branding
  • Expertise in cell culture development/process optimization and/or upstream/downstream unit operations
