Role Summary:
The Manufacturing Team Leader provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. Works within defined parameters to make decisions and apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :

  • Empower teams to set goals aligned with the business
  • Coach team on how to hold themselves accountable to achieve goals
  • Collaborate with teams to establish clear boundaries and increasing levels of authority
  • Collaborate with other Team Coaches to share best practices and resources as required (i.e. build bridges between Teams)
  • Provide Teams with tools required to improve processes to meet or exceed customer requirements (e.g. Lean mfg, CAP, etc.)
  • Facilitate challenging situations such as conflict within the team and help the team acknowledge when an issue is bigger than the team
  • Partner with team as needed in scheduling resources, technical leadership and facilitating the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements
  • Assist other Coaches with overall decision making in areas of process improvement and/or production to make appropriate resource decisions (manpower, machines, and methods) to facilitate the flow of hardware through the manufacturing process
  • Support assigned team on process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns and reduce manufacturing losses
  • Perform administrative duties to support the business, including timecards, labor vouchers, self audits, absence reviews, and missing time corrections, etc.
  • Coordinate all first line activities (i.e. Methods, Production Control) to assure the meeting of production schedules and customer satisfaction, cost goals, and maintaining the highest standards of quality
  • Work with team and business leader (as appropriate) in coaching and counseling employees regarding individual performance and development needs
  • Maintain positive employee relations by working with employees to resolve employee relation issues and concerns involving HR when needed
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices
  • Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules
  • Encourages teams to achieve highest safety levels in the plant
  • Advocate Lean Six Sigma


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing role)


  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college is preferred
  • Prior supervisory / leadership experience in a manufacturing team based environment is preferred
  • Corporate Training Program graduate (manufacturing / operations / engineering) (GE employees only)
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and ensure that they are met
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
