Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for developing and implementing programs to insure compliance with global environmental chemical legislative and regulatory requirements for the company’s products, facilities, and operations Asia, with a specialized focus on new and emerging technologies and their intersection with chemical and other EHS regulatory regimes.
The leader will work with the sites, businesses, regional teams and other functions to provide practical support on compliance strategies and detailed chemical compliance expertise to address them.
• Serve as the lead source of regulatory expertise and knowledge on chemical product compliance requirements in Asia • Support sites and businesses to ensure that products manufactured, imported and/or processed are in compliance with applicable rules regarding chemical use, including registration, labeling, risk reviews, etc. • Stay abreast of rapidly emerging technologies for manufacturing and new products to ensure proactive and ahead-of-the-curve compliance measures are in place in advance of deployment • Adapt global chemical stewardship tools for use in Asia subject to applicable requirements, develop jurisdiction-specific tools as necessary • Work collaboratively with local sites and regional team • Support EHS Product Stewardship transaction due diligence reviews in Asia • Develop and deliver training on key aspects of applicable regulations in Asia
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in chemistry, chemical engineering, toxicology or related sciences • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience • Experience working with chemical regulatory issues including proficiency in regulatory programs in Asia, including REACH • Experience implementing compliance programs for high tech manufacturing and industrial operations, and new product introductions • Completely fluent in at least one Asia language, sufficiently proficient in English to lead and participate in conference calls
