Role Summary: To accelerate new product development and enhance and support the existing downhole measurement tools in the drill bit productline.
Essential Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of firmware for electronics embedded in drill bits. Work with engineers in Woodlands Texas to understand needs and translate them to firmware specifications Conceptualize modular firmware architectures for given specifications Support firmware for prototype building, testing and qualificaiton Perform detailed design and six sigma reliability activities - DFMEA, Root cause analysis, Fishbone etc. Support and debug field issues
Qualifications/Requirements: Microcontrollers: TI MSP430, TI 28335, FPGAs Programming Languages: C/C++, .NET Version control experience: TFS, Git, Visual Sourcesafe etc. Development Environments: IAR, TI Code Composer, Visual Studio Tools: Oscilloscope, Function generators, Logic Analyzer, Use of debuggers and emulators,
Desired Characteristics: 1. Architecture and design 2. Bootloader FW programming 3. FW Test plan and Testing 4. FW Design and test document generation 5. Self-starter, independent 6. Excellent verbal and communication skills
