Role Summary: The Lease Accounting Team is a component of the Global Ops Finance organisation. The Lease Accounting Global Ops Finance team is in charge to provide support mainly related to the lease accounting activities to all business units on global basis. Services are governed by the GE Lease Accounting Enterprise Standards. Services scope include preparatory and closing activities for leasing, related account reconciliation and prepare the disclosure notes for leasing activities for all business units.
Essential Responsibilities: • Establish and develop a new team to perform the relevant activities that compliant to new Lease accounting literature. • Contribute to project planning related to Lease Accounting and pipeline management for integrations and migrations that include major milestones, critical risk indicators, measures of success and contingencies. • Support lease system design & implementation. Document the current leasing process map and design the future process map for lease accounting. Support day 1 landscape exercises to ensure completeness. • In line with the global lease accounting strategies contribute to development and execution of the operational plan. • Establish close linkage and alignment with the business controllership, the regional leaders and SMEs. • Drive change management methodologies, consistent communication, and training processes to gain user engagement, adoption, and adherence to global solution and processes • Establish a service delivery model according to GE’s Enterprise Standards and business’ needs and convert it to an operational plan • Initiate and lead other critical projects related to service quality, productivity, process simplification, digitization and harmonization as required • Proactively address gaps in process standards, training and documentation, identify and recommend improvement ideas for productivity & simplification of integrations processes. • Operate constructively within a matrix organization, ultimately driving aligned and clear expectations for the organization. • Retain an external focus outside immediate project and within shared services to remain current on industry trends. • Responsible for managing a team o drive employee engagement o establish team priorities, behaviours, deliverables o monitor operational performance
Qualifications/Requirements: • Experience managing activity migration projects; • Excellent influencing and relationship management skills • Excellent communication & presentation skills, including fluency in English • Finance shared services experience, or as a minimum a solid understanding of shared services dynamics • Strong ownership & accountability, with a proven track record of execution • Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills • Anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable operational plans • Proven ability to anticipate, and resolve complicated issues. • Ability to drive process excellence and standardization • Ability to build regulatory & compliance requirements into project requirements • Budget & resource management skills • Cultural awareness & sensitivity: ability to flex style to suit differing cultural norms and experience of leading a culturally diverse team • Good understanding of core Finance operational processes • Prior GE experience and exposure, ideally including Finance management roles in other GE businesses • Prior exposure and experience with US GAAP or IAS Lease Accounting • Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and a good understanding of GE’s organization, knows what levers to pull to deliver
