Essential Responsibilities:
GE Energy Power Conversion USA Inc. seeks a Lead Drives Engineer to provide technical engineering leadership to support the Power Conversion Services business segment on marine and industrial service projects. Lead a multi-disciplinary team of 4 engineers in delivering drive systems, ensuring customer and project requirements are met. Work with the Power Conversion Global Engineering team to upgrade customers to the latest technology. Specify, design, and document power electronic products, including electrical design, selection of components, cubicle layout, and packaging. Provide technical advice and assistance to sales and tendering teams. Support the Inquiry to Order (ITO)/Sales team during the project bid phase. Lead design reviews to ensure compliance with standards and engineering practices.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and 3 years of related experience in engineering design, testing, and commissioning of power drive systems and products. Position also requires 3 years of experience with programmable logic controller (PLC) architecture, networks, and communication protocols; system control loops and drives control for the rolling of stainless steel; and medium voltage (MV) pulse width modulated (PWM) drives control loop theory and practical; and 1 year of experience with Human Machine Interface; and source converter (SCR) based power delivery systems and control.
