The Data Center Technologies Leader will provide leadership, vision and direction for GE’s Datacenter strategy, off-loading and Technologies across all GE businesses. The Data Center Technologies Leader will manage the programs to reduce our DC footprint and define our go forward strategic locations and centers. They will also ensure our Datacenters are optimized for reliability and efficiency, aligning to the latest emerging Data Center technologies.
Key leader and contributor for GE Data Center Council
Provide leadership and strategy for Global Data Center Off Loading Strategy
Partner with IT Operations team to ensure operational excellence and implementation of Data Center strategy
Evaluate and implement vendor agreements that will support both GE hosting as well as PaaS, IaaS initiatives
High degree of executive maturity and ability to provide executive level reporting and presentations to C level executives
Apply advanced technical knowledge and skills in developing solutions or problem solving where complexity, innovation and technical expertise are required
Partner with leaders across Corporate IT to implement future technology strategy in datacenter and compute solutions and other infrastructure as it related to meeting business goals
Bring industry best practices and knowledge to GE’s Datacenter strategy to ensure GE’s investments are properly balanced and protected.
Proactively define, in partnership with senior technology leaders, Datacenter and Compute services technology strategies that will deliver cost, cycle time, and maintainability benefits
Be a leader helping to drive the GE IT vision and a key contributor toward delivering upon the GE IT Strategic Data Center Imperatives (Process Excellence, Simplification, Collaboration, Security & Compliance)
Oversee Data Center program delivery activities, including development and delivery of internal & external communications, establishing roadmaps, benchmarks, and metrics
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management or other technical / IT field, OR in lieu of a degree: a HS diploma/GED and a minimum 4 years of IT experience or equivalent military experience/training
Minimum 7 years of experience in developing, implementing and maintaining large scale Data Center and Compute services
Minimum 7 years of experience in leading multi-discipline technical teams
5 years of experience in IT infrastructure operations

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical field
