Role Summary: The Mechanical Engineer - SPS will be responsible for the review, planning, execution and finalization of projects according to deadlines. The successful candidate will also develop specification and design of equipment modifications and upgrades to improve reliability and reduce costs.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Mechanical Engineer – SPS, you will:
Provide technical support for all SPS equipment
Work with field technicians on applications of new technologies
Provide direction to field service, manufacturing and engineering to improve product
Evaluate pump applications to ensure compatibility with fluids and pressures
Conduct engineering calculations to ensure safe applications of SPS equipment
Work with vendors and customers to resolve issues
Participate in Failure Analysis teams
Provide technical documentation to support SPS product
Seek out and implement methods to reduce cost and improve product
Participate in various agency audits
Develop full scale project plans
Track project milestones and deliverables
Establish and maintain professional communications with customers
Identify and resolve issues or conflicts
Proactively manage changes in project and devise contingency plans
Lead cross functional teams
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience in an Engineering position
Proficient in multiple MS Office applications
Demonstrated project management skills
Effective organizational and communication skills
Flexible to changes in project requirements and priorities
Strong written and oral communications
Ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment
Prior work experience in manufacturing / rotating equipment
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
