Role Summary: The Catalog Content Specialist is responsible for maintaining and updating content for the Life Sciences web sites. He/she is primarily responsible for overseeing the usage of our PIM and DAM systems to combine product data and digital assets to build our product catalog. In addition, he/she should be familiar with Content Management Systems such as Sitecore, Vignette or Episerver.
Input of new and revised web content into content management systems; enforcing style and branding guidelines to ensure consistent presentation.
Keeping product taxonomies and associations up-to-date with latest changes from different business areas.
Approval of product publication workflows in product information master.
Monitoring of events from Product Lifecycle Management system.
Collaborate with web/marketing writers, digital team members, product marketing and advertising & promotion partners to ensure relevancy and quality of content.
Coordinating publication activities during new product launches, campaigns and other business initiatives.
Leadership in setting up and maintaining the digital catalog utilizing the PIM, digital asset management, CMS and internal search engine.
Support regional colleagues involved in content management.
Assist in training and education of content management tools and ensure adherence to our web standards and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience required.
Experience required with content creation, product information systems, faceted search and taxonomy management. Merchandising and/or category management experience a plus.
Previous experience with Product Content and Digital Asset Management systems such as Hybris, inRiver, Stibo, ADAM or Digizuite is a must.
Understanding of XML schema.
Experience with large scale, global content and product catalog systems.
Previous experience with enterprise level CMS such as Sitecore, Episerver or Open Text.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with graphic-related software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator) and/or animation software.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative.
Fluent in oral and written English.
Proven experience managing web content.
Knowledge of HTML & CSS is a plus.
Self-directed, problem-solver and open to change.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work independently as well as with a team.
