Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic & self-motivated professional to drive the Upstream & Enterprise portfolios within the Project Management Office in Bioprocess R&D.

Essential Responsibilities:
You will lead a team of Project Managers to co-ordinate, plan and execute New Product Introductions (NPI) and Support projects across the Upstream area (Bioreactors, Single Use products, Cell Culture Media). You will work closely with the R&D Director and the business leads in the areas to establish roadmaps, priorities and metrics to drive execution and success. The portfolio consists of multiple projects which are executed in a global environment (US, India and Sweden). The projects are executed in a cross-functional environment including functions as R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain, Quality etc. This is a key leadership role within the R&D team, and the focal point for project planning & execution, process development and cross-functional working.

• Responsible for leading the Upstream R&D project management team in the delivery of NPI and support projects across R&D sites according to Phase Review Discipline (PRDx), QMS and general compliance requirements.
• Provide regular, effective and transparent project reporting KPI’s & updates to meet business requirements: to include financial, CAPEX, project delivery, quality and compliance requirements.
• Establishing and executing effective, standardised management processes, ways of working and guidelines; in support of project delivery requirements. Including management of project operating mechanisms, project review and prioritisation processes and monthly performance reporting.
• Accountable for developing project management centre of excellence capabilities within the function, including project management training, best/new practise development and performance measurement.
• Work with R&D Director and Product Management to develop roadmaps and priorities within agreed framework.
• Coordinating and contributing to core GE business processes, and the process owner for Blueprint development within R&D.

You will be dynamic, a strong leader, capable of driving change, creating plans, influencing key leaders and leading improvements across the function. You will be able to prove your project portfolio management skills are matched by an engaging inclusive leadership style. You will have already proven your capability to influence across a matrix environment and have extensive experience of leading and coordinating in a fast changing environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Highly developed and proven project & portfolio management skills, possess a natural ability and drive to focus on project delivery, maintaining outstanding project execution and compliance in a fast changing environment. Experience with R&D systems (e.g. PRD).
• Proven leadership skills to lead teams and shape/lead growth vision. Strong Coaching skillset, a change agent with energy, passion & enthusiasm to drive change.
• Ability to collaborate across organization and with a senior-level management team. Experience in managing cross functional projects with R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain etc to deliver results.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across large organizations – experience of operating and leading in a global role with local interfaces.
• Must have excellent communication skills as well as analytical, management and planning skills necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree plus relevant experience (and proven track record) in Portfolio & Project Management in the Life Science sector.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience from leading teams and projects

Desired Characteristics:
• A good understanding of the products in the Bioprocess/Upstream area
• An understanding of key financial reporting within an R&D environment.
• Analytical skills to allow ‘getting into the detail’ whilst retaining ‘big picture’ focus.
