Role Summary: GE Lighting is looking for a summer intern for our Ivanhoe Chemical manufacturing plant. Approximately June through August. This Internship gives the candidate solid real-life experience in working inside a manufacturing facility. While working side-by-side with plant leadership and employees, the intern will learn manufacturing / engineering procedures and processes.
In this role, you will :
Work under direction of plant leadership on factory safety, quality, and cost-out projects
Compile and send out daily production and quality reports
Run laboratory characterization equipment
Work directly with production employees on improvement projects
Follow all applicable safety guidelines for work in chemical plant
Analyze and use process data to implement process controls
Assist in qualification of new materials or processes
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Full-time student enrolled in 4 year accredited college or university program pursuing an engineering major
Minimum 1 year left before graduation
Must hold and maintain a minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 overall grade point average
