Role Summary: The Composite Repair Technician requires extensive travel throughout the United States and is responsible for the inspection and repair of wind turbine blades. This position must have a high regard for safety and quality.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Composite Repair Technician, you will:
Perform blade repairs according the specified instructions including both laminate repairs and cosmetic repairs
Prepare applicable service documentation and service reports including details of repairs
Perform inspections and communicate with LM Wind Power staff appropriately
Ensure site rules, regulations and procedures are being followed at all times
Communicate with customers in a professional manner
Always make a professional appearance on site
Communicate internally with support staff appropriately
Notify supervisor immediately of any near miss or injury, no matter how slight
Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working alone or with a team
Follow all prescribed safety regulations as outlined by both LM Wind Power and the customer
Help maintain a work environment that is free of safety hazards
Notify supervisor of any workplace hazards
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Maintain complete and accurate data and records as required by LM Wind Power
Any other function as determined by the company from time to time
Immediately stop the process upon any safety concern
Notify the appropriate people and only return to work once concern has been resolved
Ensure all work and hours have been coded correctly in tracking systems
High School Diploma / GED
Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (Typical travel is 5-6 weeks on the road followed by 1 week of rest)
Must be able to work in confined spaces
Must be able to work at heights
Previous experience in the wind turbine industry or composite repair
Certification or Technical Degree in wind turbine maintenance or similar field
