Role Summary: The Senior Government Accounting Manager will be a key technical leader on the Government Accounting COE team, leading efforts to deliver compliant government accounting practices to supported GE businesses. Will be the primary contact for all technical matters on government rates and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Essential Responsibilities: Will be a key member of the Government Accounting Center of Excellence (COE). The Government Accounting COE provides government accounting and audit services for GE Businesses performing US Government work under the provisions of various Federal acquisition and accounting regulations. This individual will be accountable for the following operating responsibilities: - Help the supported businesses comply with Government rules and regulations; FAR, DFAR, CAS, CFR etc. - Create Incurred Cost submissions that are compliant with Government rules and regulations while simultaneously fitting into the business operating rhythm. - Conduct training and coaching on government accounting-related topics. Serves as a subject matter expert for questions. - Build constructive and positive relationship with regulators and customers. - Interpret and implement Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) - Compliance focal point for audit issues - Initiate and implement process improvements and digital simplification efforts
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in Government Accounting.
