Role Summary: The role of the Materials Planning Specialist is to flawlessly execute the material plan to ensure the right parts are available at the right time to support customer on time delivery and business inventory targets. This role is responsible for the daily planning, placement, and expediting of supply orders in accordance with a defined material strategy.
Overall ownership of material ordering and availability for a designated set of parts
Review recommended orders and place supply orders in adherence to lead time
Support customer on time delivery by ensuring uninterrupted supply of material; avoid stock outs while minimizing excess
Execute on inventory strategy in close connection with forecasting, supply chain, leadership, and regional teams
Meet or exceed all inventory-related metrics, including value and turns
Provide input into inventory optimization strategy and monthly forecast process
Regular analysis of inventory levels & stock plan. Cleary communicate recommended changes to current stocking plan
Monitor changes to inventory plan/forecast and take action to modify material stream to optimize inventory while maximizing customer on time delivery
Proactively identify & assess risks of stock out or late customer delivery. Identify solution and lead resolution efforts, including part substitutions, or reallocations
Escalate inventory shortages to Supply Chain and/or leadership. Be a strong Customer advocate; be persistent yet collaborative to resolve the issue in a timely manner
Basic analytics on inventory usage, forecast, and projected inventory levels
Use or create reports that help support the inventory strategy and customer on time delivery
Manage Phase-in/Phase-out planning on superseded parts to minimize obsolete inventory and customer impact
Support NPI projects by ensuring Service parts are available at launch
Flexibility with working schedule. Position needs to colleborate with North- & Latin-America therefore working hours may be out of the standard Hungarian working hours on a regular basis. Home office is available as per company policy and agreement with the manager
University or College degree. Preferred degree in Business, Economics, International Trade & Logistics
Some experience in Materials Planning/Sourcing/Logistics/Supply Chain (inclusive of internship experience)
Full working proficiency in English, written and spoken
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (lookups, pivots, advanced formulas)
Strong analytical skills & ability to translate complex data sets into meaningful, succinct data or actionable tasks
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills with a strong customer focus
Demonstrated pro-active & inclusive approach to problem solving, leadership
High tolerance for ambiguity, ability to work with multiple & competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Self-directed, resourceful and persistent in driving issues to resolution.
Ability to identify & drive process improvements to improve productivity, customer experience
Ability to effectively communicate across various levels of the organization
Working knowledge of ERP (Oracle), especially Supply Chain/Materials Planning modules
