Role Summary:
This position guides all technology efforts for the Imaging Software Platforms organization. This platforms team is responsible for crafting, implementing, delivering, integrating, & supporting common software platforms for Imaging businesses across MICT, MR, XR, Women’s Health, and Post. It covers Imaging devices, Edge/Cloud Enablement, Health Cloud. This role will define the future shared Digital software strategy of the Imaging business and work with development teams to build solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Leads the business-wide technical and business discussions relative to future enterprise direction, aligning architecture strategy with enterprise goals.
• Defines principles that guide technology decisions and the relationship between enterprise business context (industry and market trends) and specified technology.
• Reviews and/or analyzes and develops architectural requirements, as needed for business-wide projects.
• Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide EA decision making.
• Works with business leadership to establish a technology research strategy and roadmap.
• Directs the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends.
• Ensures recommendations are based on business relevance, appropriate timing and deployment. Dedicatedly finds reuse goals, opportunities and related explorations.
• Leads the development of software and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable and configurable components.
• Cultivates a culture that dedicatedly uses market data to drive growth.
• Continually monitors industry dynamics and market trends, and anticipates how those trends will impact GE's and our customers' profitability.
• Works with Senior Business leadership to approve allocation of budget to meet architectural initiatives critical to business/mission success. Reviews, sponsors and approves recommendations for enterprise-wide change programs that impact cross-functional key processes.
• Partners with other business leaders to identify opportunities for significant technology / process enhancements.
• Lobbies for changes that impact strategic business direction.
• Defines strategy with senior business leaders and subject matter authorities and determines courses of action that will impact the enterprise.
• Makes timely decisions that set enterprise-wide direction.
• Promotes a tolerance for high long-term risk that equates with significant returns on the investment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
• A minimum of 15 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master’s degree with 12 years of experience OR PhD with 10 years of experience.

Technical Expertise:

• Experience in working with Micro services, SOA, Big Data systems, Cloud Technologies, DevOps, Agile, etc.
• Experience with medical devices, Healthcare IT interoperability, HL7 and healthcare standards.
• Guide knowledge of security/privacy control, elasticity, scalability, high availability, concurrency, online diagnoses, deployment, upgrade/migration, internationalization, production support and other SaaS enterprise software issues.
• Participates in enterprise/cloud strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development. Reviews and/or analyzes and develops architectural requirements at domain level, aligning architectural requirements with software development strategy.
