Role Summary:
Coordinate, manage and lead IT infrastructure needs across the Lighting and Current business units, including accountability for solution design, development and operations. Leads a team of architects working on highly complex SAP ERPs supporting, evaluating, recommending, architecting, and porting GE’s SAP ERPs to strategic infrastructure and cloud platforms.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for leadership & staffing of DT
    Infrastructure organization: recruits, provides training & education,
    leads, and retains a high performing team of technology professionals
    responsible for the Infrastructure program. Responsible for development,
    performance management, and coaching of direct reports.
  • Provide strategic budget oversight for areas within the
    infrastructure management team’s accountability for operating within the set
    operating and capital budget parameters.
  • Align company’s current technology infrastructure with the
    strategic business needs & plans.
  • Drive strategic and operational governance processes of the
    business unit as a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Maintain a strong control of the infrastructure environment
    that is responsive to the risks across all aspects of technology.
  • Work collaboratively with other DT leadership team to
    produce infrastructure architecture, standards and policies.
  • Partner with digital product development teams to assess and
    implement technology best practices, cost effective product architectures, and
    assist where appropriate in IT Operations of associated products. Monitor
    changes and advancements in technology to discover ways we can gain a
    competitive advantage
  • Select and plan implementation of new technology to
    streamline operations and help optimize our strategic initiatives. Act as
    subject matter expert & provide guidance to professionals and other staff
    within the organization. Keep abreast of industry standards, practices and new
    technologies to enhance key stakeholder satisfaction. 
  • Partner with Security and Compliance Teams to ensure secure
    computing environment, policy enforcement, threat & vulnerability
    management, incident management and compliance fulfillment.
  • Provide stewardship for IT change management, disaster
    recovery and supports business continuity initiatives.
  • Future responsibilities will include leadership of global
    team in multiple geographies



Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” field
    (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from accredited institution.
  • 8+ years of proven success managing complex and diverse
    technology operations and teams, with at least 5 years involving delivery of
    infrastructure solutions and operational excellence.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will
    not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this
    job opening. 



Desired Characteristics:

  • 10+ years of global vendor management experience
  • Prior experience in M&A Integrations and Divestitures
  • Previous experience in enterprise architecture
  • Familiar with Infrastructure services for SAP; SAP as ERP
    system, SalesForce and Sox
  • Expertise and demonstrated technical competence in multiple
    technology domains with focus on virtualization, cloud, server, network, voice
    and data systems.
  • ITIL v3 foundations certification or equivalent experience
  • Previous leadership of Global IT Infrastructure
    organization(s) within a matrixed organization
