Role Summary: Responsible for on-time delivery of: Issuing operating and control concept, functional specifications, control narratives, process data, system descriptions and operating instructions in line with GE design rules & processes, with project contractual requirements, with technical regulations & standards and EHS policy for the plant systems. The Engineer has the technical and time schedule responsibility for the engineering work and/or services of the project
Essential Responsibilities: Tasks & Responsibilities: · Analyze customer contract requirements to be considered in the design and collect all required inputs from internal and external stakeholders · Prepare the functional specifications for the plant equipment and systems sizing (e.g. bypass, condensate, fuel, auxiliary gas systems) · Define the operating cases and operating limits to elaborate the heat balances regarding equipment – system sizing. · Ensure that the design is per applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and per good engineering practices especially about environmental aspects and health and safety of site personal, operators, maintenance personnel and third parties · Prepare process engineering documentation such as PFD/PID/P&IDs, system and operation description, signal exchange list/ set point list, line and valve lists, control narratives (block diagram, description), mechanical interfaces list, consumer and source lists (electrical, instrument air, waste water etc) · Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other engineering disciplines and support the project engineering manager and the lead engineer · Participate to HAZOP-studies, to design reviews and to the design freeze meetings and ensure that corrective actions are closed on time · Verify the system design based on equipment characteristic and piping arrangement. · Participate in software acceptance test of the plant control system · Provide site technical assistance for construction and commissioning · Support in claim negotiations and preparation of relevant documentation and facts
Professional Experience (Experience gained on the job during professional life): · 8 plus years of relevant experience in process design (in power plant or alternatively oil & gas, chemical industries…) · Based on skills and experience this role can be offered as either PB or LPB level
Mandatory (MUST): · 5-8 years of relevant experience in Power plant projects.
Desirable (NICE TO HAVE): · Commissioning experience
Functional Knowhow: · Know and apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the systems /components, · Power plant process knowledge, · Knowledge of Interfaces and main power plant equipment (GT, ST, HRSG, Condenser) · Good skills in the use of computer applications and computer tools, · Good knowledge of engineering, design and project management tools and methods, · Good knowledge on controls systems · Good knowledge about safety in design (EHS, Functional safety)
