Role Summary:
The Director – Program Management is responsible for the successful delivery of GE’s next generation global Digital Workplace Technology programs. The candidate will be responsible for defining and executing programs, driving the strategy, roadmap and product lifecycle for a portfolio of contemporary GE’s global business collaboration and productivity tools and solutions, and tracking and monitoring key metrics to ensure milestones are met on time and on budget.

  • Manage a team of product/project managers, and service delivery engineers
  • Interface & work closely with engineering & software development teams & their staff
  • Ensure that development and release deliverables & timelines are met
  • Manage risks and dependencies between internal & external teams & vendors
  • Define and implement processes for coordination and communication between internal & external GE teams, vendors, and with GE stakeholders
  • Drive vision & strategy, product & technology roadmap and product lifecycle for the collaboration and productivity products and solutions as a whole
  • Work closely with external vendors & partners in guiding and influencing their product roadmap and strategy to best meet GE’s current and long-term needs
  • Participate in and contribute to technical direction, architecture and strategy of the cloud-based collaboration and productivity tools
  • Participate in events and industry associations to influence the direction for the business and technology in the Digital Workplace Technology segment


  • Work cross functionally with global development, operations, support/service delivery, end users, external vendors and partners, and senior management teams to formulate and execute the strategy, and develop holistic solutions that scale across GE
  • Work closely with Compliance, Data Privacy, IT Risk, Security, Legal and product marketing management to ensure that Digital Workplace Technology product deliverables are abided by all defined cross-discipline standards and all compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Be a domain/business expert for the portfolio to guide teams, establish/refine product management processes, and build and mentor high performance team of Product Managers, Product Analysts and UX Designers
  • Lead cross-discipline teams to establish an integrated plan to deliver team commitments
  • Manage deliverables in a very rapid Agile development cycle, working directly with customers/end users from across all businesses, contributing to strategic product decisions, and overseeing functional and support operations of the tools
  • Establish governance structure that identifies key performance indicators, set milestones, and establish a reporting cadence
  • Track and monitor program status and metrics to ensure milestones are met, and internal and external delivery commitments are met
  • Ensure ongoing communication of progress against program objectives
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues and make recommendations for improvements to existing processes

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 12+ years of professional experience along with established leadership across the discipline and function
  • A minimum of 7+ years of software product management and program management experience
  • Strong track record of successful program management and implementation of large-scale enterprise web and SaaS applications
  • Experience leading and developing a team of Product Managers/Analysts

    Eligibility Requirements: (Country Specific)

    Desired Characteristics:

    Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive experience with Agile, Scrum/Kanban, test-driven development, DevOps processes/tools, cloud computing (AWS) and UX design methodologies
  • Experience in SaaS enterprise collaboration technologies such as Microsoft Office 365 Yammer, Teams, Planner, SharePoint, etc., with strong track record of understanding in current and emerging technologies in digital workplace domain
  • Experience using Confluence, Rally, and/or AHA is a plus
  • Experience in web and mobile technologies such as RESTful web services, Node.js, JavaScript/AngularJS, HTML5 and CSS3, responsive web design is a plus

  • Proven track record of setting targets, executing a plan, effectively managing risk and uncertainty, and delivering results
  • Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills, with ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization, and with other GE businesses and partners
