Role Summary: The Employment and Labor Relations Specialist (m/f) is part of the HR team GE Healthcare Germany. He/she gives advice on employee and union or works council relations and drives the implementation of selected HR projects and will work closely with the HR Managers in GE Healthcare. The position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Labor Relations Healthcare in Germany. The position is based in Munich, travelling to other GE Healthcare/ GE locations in Germany is part of the job.
Provide operational legal advice to the GE Healthcare business in Germany. Topics include: employment policies and practices, disciplinary issues, works council and unions, restructuring and outsourcing, employment litigation, for the HR Teams in Healthcare.
Partner with the HR Teams of GE Healthcare, ensure that the implementation of Business and HR initiatives is in line with German labor law.
Drive the implementation of HR projects including all operational aspects.
Support/lead the negotiations of shop agreements.
Support/lead the negotiations of balance of interests and social plans.
Negotiate termination agreements.
Identify and manage HR compliance risks in GE Healthcare.
Ensure that works council requirements are aligned with data privacy requirements e.g. on roll out of new IT tools.
Support GE Germany wide labor relations projects across all businesses.
State examinations in law from an accredited university or college or Master of Laws degree (“Wirtschaftsjurist”)
Relevant post-qualification work experience in practicing labor and employment law – preferably gained in the industry / a company
Prior experience in dealing with works councils/unions in Germany
You are interested in HR work and have a hands-on mentality
Fluency in German and English
Willingness to travel
Work experience as HR Manager
Experience in an international environment/ matrix organization
