Role Summary:
The Repair Station / FAA Accountable Quality Manager and Shop Operations Quality Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities Include :


  • Provide leadership for shop and repair organization Quality and Technical activities
  • Interface with regulators and customers to ensure all FAA repair and other requirements are met during repair process
  • Own and drive quality training status and initiatives across quality team and site
  • Coordinate quality input / improvement in individual plant QIPs
  • Coordinate implementation of process capability improvement program
  • Coordinate Cell Quality rep program
  • Own transition to and maintenance and improvement of Digital QIP
  • Own and coordinate the operation of the Delivery Improvement Plan across the shop
  • Direct generic process / product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization
  • Lead technical efforts in reducing MRB and manufacturing losses
  • Drive escape reduction across shops / repair
  • Own ongoing Escape Reduction Tiger Team
  • Coordinate internal response to escapes and ensure collaboration to drive rapid resolution of all customer quality issues
  • Provide technical leadership on quality problem identification and resolution on all problems
  • Select, hire, train, and provide ongoing leadership of assigned personnel to meet schedules, quality and measurements, and organizational goals
  • Compile and report all shop and repair organization measures on quality and cost
  • Interface with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, projects, assembly, and vendors to assure requirements are met on time meeting specifications

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Production, Repair Quality or related field

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :


  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of machining / fabricating and / or assembly and test processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven analytical abilities
  • Strong process improvement and data analysis skills
  • Experience with regulators and customers, with FAA repair requirements
  • Strong RCCA skills—experience with Apollo and TOPS 8D
  • Experience with PFMEA
