Role Summary:
The Electrical Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates leadership and will develop and implement new and improved methods for manufacturing, assembly, and test (harsh environment sensors used in radiation monitoring, nuclear reactor, and oil exploration). The individual will be responsible across various product lines for supporting daily production needs, contributing to business growth, and achieving improvements in methods, capabilities, and efficiencies.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Electrical Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Utilize best engineering & lean principles and lead / assist efforts to improve process capability, reduce variation, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
  • Support new equipment / upgrades from purchase through installation
  • Support Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) projects
  • Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods and create process routings
  • Design and build / procure necessary tooling and fixturing
  • Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) programs consisting of design, development, design reviews and manufacturing implementation
  • Drive improvements in assembly, test setups, yield at test, test automation and storage and retrieval of data

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 7 years experience in Manufacturing and/or Operations

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Proven history of collaborating across boundaries, fostering a team environment, and implementing change
  • Demonstrated results acting as a change agent and challenge the status quo
  • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines
  • Experience with manual manufacturing environment, assembly/test, or equivalent experience
  • Strong project management abilities and results a plus
  • Hands-on experience designing using SOLIDWORKS software
  • Ability to use data and statistics to characterize a manufacturing process
  • Experience and ability to mentor and guide other Manufacturing Engineers
  • Experience with printed circuit board assembly, electrical systems, and electrical component assembly, ESD best practices
  • SQL Server programming experience / Relational database.
  • Experience with harsh environment PCBA design and assembly
  • Experience with Lab View / Visual Basic / C++ / Test Stand programming
  • IPC-A-610 Certification
  • IPC J-STD-001 Certification
  • Demonstrated manufacturing process improvement accomplishments
  • Ability to manage priorities and achieve results
  • Strong manufacturing process knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and/or Quality training or equivalent
