Role Summary:
The Director of Product & R&D Finance is responsible for supporting the VP of Development & Product Management and the entire global R&D organization for BHGE Digital. As part of BHGE Digital’s Finance organization, working for the BHGE Digital CFO, this role is responsible for leading and driving rigorous analysis of financial and operational metrics to support the leadership team with both short-term and long-term strategic decision making.

Essential Responsibilities:

The role will be expected to foster and maintain a collaborative and inclusive environment and will work cross functionally across engineering, product management, sales enablement, commercial, marketing, and more with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, closing and reporting, financial analysis, cost to serve, product profitability, return analysis, and driving operational rigor.

  • Partner with Software Development & Product Management, Operations and Marketing teams with the buildup of their resources. Work with leaders to determine size and capacity required for their teams, pace of hiring, and selection of global locations to build out their teams.
  • Support Software Development & Product Management to design and implement ongoing resource capacity/allocation planning and utilization process.
  • Responsible for quarter close activities related to cost, headcount, allocations to product companies, intercompany/tax, and reporting to BHGE HQ.
  • Key owner of software development reviews with Chief Digital Officer. Prepare and present financials (cash burn, headcount, development cost etc).
  • Lead annual and quarter financial planning sessions for Software Development & Product
  • Management, Operations, and Marketing teams.
  • Support BHGE Digital teams and Chief Digital Office by providing reporting on cost and headcount metrics (e.g. C&B, Contract Labor, etc.) for Software Development & Product Management and Operations teams.
  • Develop and execute a process to review software NPI’s and investment decisions with the
  • Software Development & Product Management team.
  • Work with BHGE Digital FP&A Manager to develop total Oil & Gas process that provides visibility into capital allocation and investments for software applications and digital products. Build out capability to measure returns across software application
  • Support establishment of global locations, and work with Tax to establish efficient tax structures and required intercompany structures/accounting.
  • Drive automation and simplification of financial processes within projects and cost tracking. Work with Operations leader to identify core metrics and key drivers for business teams within BHGE Digital and establish operating rhythms to drive proactive decisions making versus reactive reporting.
  • Develop an investment/cost allocation approach to liquidate Software Development cost to product companies. Determine investment/cost that should remain with BHGE Digital and which cost should be moved to the product companies.
  • Drive projects to improve cost and headcount visibility along with completeness and accuracy of reports/analysis. Create automated reporting and analytics processes to reduce cycle time and support operational teams in making quicker strategic decisions in driving cost efficiency and resources allocation.
  • Support the design and implementation of the BHGE Digital financial reporting structure. Coordinate with BHGE HQ, and other product company Finance teams to develop financial reporting structure that is effective and efficient, and leverages current process and systems in place.


    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in Finance or related function

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Must be willing to travel 10% of the time
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Confidence and proven ability to influence and work across multiple key stakeholders
  • Solid Analytical Skills
  • Highly analytical & curious with previous experience in commercial finance and/or FP&A
  • FMP and/or CAS experience
  • Prior finance experience with software
  • Ability to challenge status quo and influence cross-functional and global counterparts
  • Ability to execute across multiple priorities independently & decisively
  • Effectively communicates across all levels of management & staff (both written & oral)
  • Experience with Business Objects,, Oracle, SAP, HFM, and Cognos Finance
