Role Summary:
As the Technical Proposal Manager, you will:



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work as a key member of the North America Field Services commercial team in support of achieving the region's orders, sales, and margin OP and other ancillary financial and productivity targets, by owning and driving the development of a high volume of professional services proposals for the commercial team
  • Work with Sales Managers and Segment Leaders to obtain cost and price details for services and equipment needed to develop work scopes and create timely, professional customer-ready Project, LTSA & Demand Services proposals
  • Work with the Region sales team to understand customer CTQ's, develop deal strategies and analyze the competitive landscape and market pricing
  • Manage the entire opportunity and proposal screening, development, approvals and pricing processes
  • Maintain a database of wins and losses on delivered proposals, competitor trends, market price levels for application and use on future opportunities
  • Input, manage and disposition SFDC database for all active opportunities
  • Demonstrate strong ability to balance multiple priorities and opportunities
  • Be able to manage deadlines and set the correct expectations concerning cycle times and milestones
  • Understand and be fluent in standard & deal specific T&Cs and how they inter-relate, affect risk profile and costs. Understand fall back positions when deviating from standard terms
  • Support regional platform operating metrics, centered on offerings and individual productivity, to promote proposal throughput, yield, cost, and efficiency
  • Ensure process adherence to all government contracting requirements
  • Manage order-booking requirements and drive an improved OTR turnover process to ensure proper control of contract flow-down requirements


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a technical discipline from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Sales, Commercial Operations or Engineering role
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Power and/or Industrial segment

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required

  • Experience with industrial drives & controls

  • Previous contract terms & conditions, or execution experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and planning skills
  • Proven ability to produce results
  • Technical experience with industrial and utility customers and processes
  • Demonstrated clear thinking with effective communication at all levels
  • Strong influencing skills and works well with others

PLEASE NOTE: Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL are the preferred locations; however, other US locations may be considered.
