Role Summary: The Sr System Engineering will concentrate on the design & implementation of IaaS and 24x7 operations. Included in the focus areas is the critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components of the infrastructure, cloud providers, cloud monitoring, deployment & provisioning tools. Lead the effort on IaaS and technology investigations for delivering innovative, high SLA services to GE customers in a multi-location environment.
In this role, you will:
Design, Test and deliver infrastructure to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of IaaS.
Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale IaaS.
Design and build advanced automated Infrastructure deployment frameworks.
Provide hands-on technical leadership in design and support of Vmware and Linux servers
8am to 5pm Monday – Friday and also participate in 24x7 rotation including on-call and off shifts
BS /MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of system engineering/administration experience in large scale SaaS environment.

Experience in one or more of: Perl, Python or scripting experience in Shell.
Experience working with Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond, with experience working with system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
Experience working with virtualization technologies, particularly OVM, VMWare, Xen, and/or KVM is a plus
Networking: experience with network theory e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc., MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing; SND +.
Strong oral and written English and Chinese communication. Experience in writing technical documentation a plus
Demonstrated experience scripting or developing software and services for the cloud with one or more of the following automation scripting coding languages( Shell, Powershell, Ansible, Python, Chef, Puppett, Bash, Ruby, Python, Go, Java, Node.js, .NET, etc. )
Experience managing version control systems such as Git
Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on public clouds such as AWS or Azure
Experience using an automated configuration management system (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc.)
Knowledge of Network Management (SNMP, MIB)
Experience with configuring, customizing, and extending monitoring tools (Datadog, Sensu, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)
Knowledge and experience using Analytics Software Packages like Matlab, SAS, JMPro etc. Programming experience with open source scripting and data
analysis packages like Python, R is a plus
Hands on experience supporting and maintaining Citrix XenApp environments - v6.0, 6.5, 7.x including monitoring tools - EdgeSight and Director
Extensive experience writing PowerShell and other scripting languages for automation tasks
Highly experienced in troubleshooting issues related to all Citrix XenApp infrastructure components
Experience of working with a large XenApp environment including Platform Upgrade/Migration Experience
