Role Summary: The role is part of the wind product and design process, within Land Constrained Electrical Engineering Team. It's a global engineering role and essential for high quality shipment of wind turbine products, timely fulfillment of customer orders and successful NPI execution. Scope of team includes electrical systems & components for GE wind turbines. Range of components span a wide range of electrical control cabinets, power distribution, converters, generators, medium voltage equipment, etc.
Essential Responsibilities: • Execute engineering design work on test cabinets for functional testing of electrical control cabinets, define test procedures and integrate them into the manufacturing processes. • Full component ownership for these test cabinets. Starting with the definition of needed functionality, technical clarification, interface definition, and introduction into manufacturing. As well as driving necessary modifications during the product lifecycle. • Creation and maintenance of HMI software and test instructions. • Definition and control of complete technical documentation for test cabinets, including specifications, bills of material, drawings, and schematics. • Ensure compliance and safety of test cabinets. • Partner with other engineers to understand electrical cabinets functionality, interfaces and derive test needs from it. • Support/train manufacturing sites with respect to the use of the test cabinets hard and software, as well as with respect to introduction of hardware, software and test procedure changes. • Work with global and cross-functional teams to leverage ‘Best Practice’ for electrical cabinet testing. • Work closely with the Technical Leaders and global team members to ensure high quality and on-time delivery for engineering assignments.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related area. • 3+ years’ experience working with electrical cabinets, monitor and control software, and/or testing of electrical control equipment. • Ability to work with and understand electrical schematics of complex electrical control systems. • Familiar with programming of HMI, SCADA or similar software. • Positive mindset with good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment. • Willingness to travel.
