Role Summary: The Materials Planning and Execution Specialist will be accountable for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials between departments according to daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. This role also coordinates with the heads of production departments, purchasing and planning to monitor the progress of work through the organization to ensure timely execution of the production schedule.
Essential Responsibilities: This person coordinates the planning of current schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services. The individual reviews production schedules and manufacturing orders to ensure that components and services are available in a timely manner. This role collaborates with manufacturing operations to resolve problems related to the production schedule; such as material shortage status, timely transactions, rejection, scrap, re-work, production flow, etc.
In the role of Materials Planning & Execution Specialist, you will:
Determine the status of assigned projects, expedites operations that delay schedules, and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
Analyze and interpret product bills of material, scopes, specifications, etc. to determine the content and plan manageable work elements
Monitor, analyze, and report performance to schedule of production, and production support activities, utilizing information derived from material and production control systems
Ensure all parties are fully cognizant of production status, and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated
Coordinate and expedite the placement of purchase orders, delivery of material, and finished goods
Schedule, expedite, and coordinate the delivery & movement of critical material, including material transfers, and conditional material releases
Maintain master data integrity in SAP to support efficient logistics planning
Coordinate daily activities with other logistics and manufacturing personnel
Direct the production planning, materials management activities and supports value stream material analysis to meet customer requirements
Develop and manages robust systems for plant inventory levels to meet inventory turn goals as well as customer fulfillment
Review consumption and develop a stocking plan to ensure adequate supply
Analyze, coordinate, and develop supply plan logistics across all regions to meet customer demand while remaining in line with operational working capital limits
Maintain accurate traceability for all records created during manufacturing
Monitor and react to system exception and rescheduling messages to maintain system alignment in accordance with customer demands
Develop production schedules and prioritize job-orders to maintain customer satisfaction
Perform data analysis and decision making to support department material supply to meet production schedules
Follow-up as required with appropriate personnel to expedite flow of materials and products to meet production schedule and customer expectations
Interact with shop floor supervisors and managers on a daily basis to resolve issues inefficiencies
Develop and achieve Company and departmental goals and controls. Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity
Bachelor’s Degree in from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing planning, operations and/or materials management)
Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing / supply chain environment
Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS
Experience in and demonstrated judgment to plan and accomplish operational objectives within a complex mix model / made to order manufacturing environment
Proficient in SAP
Proven expertise in materials management concepts, practices and procedures specifically related to all aspects of inventory management, capacity planning, systems, and material optimization strategies and flow optimization
Demonstrated ability to incorporate Lean manufacturing practices to achieve quantifiable improvements in cost, production, and on-time delivery
Demonstrated organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to adapt to changes in the production schedule
