Role Summary:
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for cyber security for endpoint devices (PC & mobile) including operations, project execution, vulnerability management and incident response. This position will report to the GRC CISO and partner with the GRC Security Operations Leader to ensure delivery of world class cyber security solutions in support of the GE Global Research Center and the GE Engineering Horizontal.

Essential Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on technical role that will provide the right candidate an exciting opportunity to leverage and grow technical, process and leadership skills in an exciting area of the company.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and be responsible for GRC endpoint security engineering. Partner with peers across the business to ensure GRC compliance with endpoint security policies and standards.
  • Participate in projects ensuring endpoint security is implemented in line with requirements
  • Provide subject matter expertise for endpoint security topics
  • Troubleshoot endpoint security related incidents/requests
  • Ensure vulnerability management for endpoint devices (PC & mobile)
  • Track and remediate endpoint security software defects (AV, DLP, EDR, etc.)
  • Review & assess vulnerabilities and risk associated with 3rd party software
  • Gather and/or assist GE Legal in acquiring Forensic Images of computers
  • Perform local or remote remediation of malware infections on workstations
  • Deliver regular endpoint security metrics and implement practices to improve performance and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Identify and implement automation in endpoint security processes to simplify processes, improve results and reduce cycle time


Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • BS degree or higher in Computer science or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or minimum 4 years of related technical experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in information security

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen

  • Familiar with IT Security concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a team
  • Master’s degree in Business, Sciences or Information Technology
  • Information security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.)
  • Experience with endpoint security tools (AV, DLP, EDR, etc.) and vulnerability management
  • Experience working in a complex, global environment
  • Prior experience in IT operations and support
  • Self-starter, identifies opportunities for improvement and implements positive change
  • Experience working on projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Active US Government clearance or the ability to obtain one
