Role Summary: The Senior Controller (Technical Accounting) demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, and be involved in long-term planning.
Provide technical accounting guidance to business leaders regarding complex financial accounting and reporting issues and transaction structuring
Interpret and implement GE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
Key contact for Corporate and external auditors
Provide expertise to the business in the following areas: revenue recognition, business acquisitions/dispositions, joint venture accounting, warranty, inventory and property and equipment
Develop and provide accounting training as necessary
Provide technical accounting guidance to advise business leaders regarding financial accounting and reporting issues
Manage/support the business teams in preparing quarterly accounting documentation and preparation of appropriate accounting procedures and policies·
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 5 years of experience in an accounting position
Technical accounting experience in public or private company
Certified Public Accountant is preferred
Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial issues
Progressive technical accounting experience from a
Fortune 100 Industrial business Revenue
Recognition accounting experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills PC proficiency
