Role Summary:

GE is building solutions at the intersection of networking and software, focused on performance and availability of network infrastructure as well as connecting users in new and dynamic ways. Essential Responsibilities:

The ideal individual is relentlessly technical, passionate for automating everything and totally committed to delivering amazing customer experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Architect and design sound/supportable technical solutions to complex business requirements

  • Evaluate requests for enhancements and determine potential impacts with the current system design/configurations

  • Partner with CTO, CISO, and business team members to assess their functionality needs and recommend secure technology solutions

  • Write technical specifications

  • Document system changes

  • Review technical designs to ensure compliance with organizational standards

  • Train/Mentor less experienced resources

  • Provide support and maintenance of existing application functionality

  • Triage/debug production issues (Data, Code, Performance, Security, etc.), identify root cause and corrective actions


Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, similar STEM degree, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 5 years IT experience in enterprise-wide deployments





Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Must be willing to travel (less than 20%)
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Cincinnati, OH


Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

  • Understanding of application development, security, cloud computing, and infrastructure basics. Depth in all areas is not expected, but practical awareness and some experience spanning the breadth of the domain is desired.
  • Systems-thinking experience, knowledge of how to decompose a complex system into relevant components and experience applying this to the development of new products and solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with cyber security and architecture, especially from a product development perspective. Experience with end user security agents and/or client security technologies is a plus.
  • Interested in current and emerging technologies

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes from the customer's viewpoint

  • Obsessed with solving problems in the infrastructure and software domain that improve user experience, security posture, or performance of foundational infrastructure
