Role Summary:
Design Engineer / Project Leader for industrial low voltage switchboard, switchgear and related electrical distribution equipment. You will be responsible for supporting and leading cost out projects within Technology team.



Essential Responsibilities:
As the Design Engineer / Project Leader, you will:

  • Generate cost out ideas, scope productivity projects including financial and technical aspects
  • Lead and support productivity programs, validate designs, implement manufacturing readiness, and support product launch
  • Ensure that projects meet their financial goals
  • Ensure that developed designs meet industrial electrical distribution market needs defined by product technical specifications and UL, IEC, and ANSI standards
  • Develop and test product qualification, certification, and reliability requirements.
  • Manage execution of prototype design, build, and testing
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to resolve design concept failures
  • Some travel may be required


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering


Desired Characteristics:
  • Working knowledge of Change Management, Six Sigma and Design For Reliability processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute project plans while delivering financial goals
  • Knowledge of product cost structure
  • Strong organization and analytical competencies
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change results
  • Demonstrated high level of motivation and resourcefulness
  • Ability to work in stress conditions
  • Fluent in English
  • Working knowledge with MS office SW, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Working knowledge of CAD Software
  • MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical distribution & protection industry experience
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and tasks
  • Green Belt certified or equivalent quality certification
  • Experience in product design, LV Distribution Equipment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing production process
  • Working knowledge of C-change NPI Process
