Essential Responsibilities: General Electric Company seeks Engineering Technical Leader - Systems in Chicago, Illinois to provide system level decisions for the design and development of Asset Performance Management (APM) applications that will be hosted onboard locomotives and communicate with offboard applications hosted in the cloud. Lead and drive the APM systems engineering team members in all phases of product development life cycle. Own system and sub-system level specification, system level design, models, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Architect and engineer APM modules using Agile methodology. Translate customer and operational needs into robust system level specification. Drive quality through ensuring proper Quality Management Standards are followed and support Quality Assurance (QA) audits.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 5 years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor’s degree related experience. Position also requires 5 years of experience with Positive Train Control (PTC) standards and S-9101 Locomotive Electronics System Architecture standards; 2 years of experience with Operating Systems (Linux and QNX); and 1 year of experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) lean agile software and system engineering, Cloud-based technologies (Predix), and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).
