Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of sequence processor and system control systems used within a Magnetic Resonance (MR) system. Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction. Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to understand system interactions and dependencies; account for these integration points within development plan. Provide technical leadership to team throughout product development and implementation process. Support install base including Customer Satisfaction Opportunities, Site issues, Install and Warranty cost, Supplier design change requests etc. Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data. Construct MATLAB models and simulations to prove out design concepts; leverage models to build, test, and modify product prototypes. Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system. Review and approve layout done on the ECAD system. Participate in technical design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA etc. Develop VHDL code to support FPGA-based designs; be proficient in simulating and debugging design. Engage in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support. Identify and develop new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the MR product line.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor’s degree experience in related occupation required. The position also requires 5 years experience with digital design and control systems; 3.5 years experience in complex VHDL designs and simulation tools (Altera, or ModelSim); 1.5 years experience in MATLAB or equivalent simulation/modeling tool; 2 years experience with project management processes and procedures; 2 years experience with Mechanical and Thermal aspects of sub-system design and packaging; 3 years experience with Circuit design, schematic capture and simulation tool; 2 years experience with PWA board bring-up and system integration; 2 years experience with typical electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers; 4 years experience in MR Product Development; 2 years design experience in field of real-time low level data and bus handling and signal integrity; and 3.5 years experience with continuous development of core competencies in digital engineering and FPGA field.
