Role Summary: Lead monthly and quarterly closing process of Middle East & Africa ledgers for GE business Full responsibility for the timely preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly management reports
Essential Responsibilities: Lead monthly and quarterly closing process of Middle East & Africa ledgers for GE business Full responsibility for the timely preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly management reports Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner Ensure compliance with GE account reconciliation requirements & identifies area to improve quality Perform variance analysis on Balance Sheet reviews with regional Business leaders Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management Facilitate the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors Ensure FP&A team are receiving financial data and analysis as required Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period Conducting probationary reviews with staff and annual performance reviews to support staff development Participate in other projects as required
Qualifications/Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance and Accounting), Professional accounting qualification is an asset +12 years related accounting experience with at least 5 years’ leadership role Strong leadership skills and ability to lead and motivate big team to achieve results Excellent knowledge of US GAAP General Ledger accounting experience is a must Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and PowerPoint Excellent command of English Excellent communication & interpersonal abilities Experience of working in a shared services environment with sound understanding of global processes and transactional flows is recommended Highly result oriented, ready to take challenges and able to work under pressure Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation Ability to manage large sets of data with strong analytical skills Strong knowledge of Oracle Financials/SAP Ability to work and succeed within tight deadlines and closing peaks The ability to work independently with minimum supervision, a self-starter Ability to influence without authority and work collaboratively in a team
