Role Summary:
Execute precommissioning, preservation, mechanical and electrical completion, commissioning and O&M support.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute the tasks agreed with the Commissioning Team Leader and Commissioning Shift Leader
  • Be able to create or revise the procedures for commissioning
  • Provide technical support, advice and instructions to other commissioning technicians and contractors
  • Report technical deviations
  • Organization of spare parts, equipment and tooling for the jobs
  • Provide regular reports on commissioning status
  • Reporting for the cost control system, assuring the requested data input in order to posterior analysis
  • Inform all site personnel of any site hazards brought about as a direct result of commissioning actions, together with associated precautions
  • Execute commissioning tasks in a safe and timely manner in accordance with the contract, budget and time schedule
  • Survey the commissioning work performed by the subcontractor, so it will be necessary to know the steps to be followed at each test
  • Follow the handover between installation and commissioning phases, turbine inspections, preservations, preassembly, punch-list check-up
  • Proposal of process improvements in order to get highest level in Security and/or cost reduction. Special attention to guarantee the fulfilment of EHS


    • Electrical or electronic Degree
    • Fluent English
    • Willing to travel 100% of the time
    • Significant on commissioning Wind Turbines experience
    • Offshore experience [Recommend]
    • Proven experience on reporting, documentation management
    • Ability to prepare and follow Tests and documentation check lists, test plans
    • Experience in Wind projects site construction, with multinational team and subcontractor workforce
    • Ability to work offshore (Offshore medical certificate, Sea Survival, Wind Turbine full rescue course)
    • Ability to secure quality assurance and environmental processes
    • Knowledge of specification, design, maintenance, construction and commissioning of wind industry and offshore industry
    • Electrical knowledge, able to draw schematics
    • Ability to design and apply solutions for the NCR’s, containment actions and propose solutions
    • Knowledge of operation of WTG systems such as Pitch system, Yaw system, cooling circuits, elevator, hydraulic systems
    • Knowledge in mechanics
    • PC knowledge of Microsoft applications as well as industrial and management software
    • EU Work Permit

    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
