Role Summary: The Pump Technician will report to the CSM and will play an important role servicing customers at work site, in and around the area.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Pump Technician you will:
Pick-up and deliver pumps while following established guidelines for transportation
Tear down and repair of downhole rod pumps, pump assemblies and tubing anchors
Deliver to well site, inspection of pumps for corrosion wear & pitting, air testing, and pump out procedures used in the repairs
Inventory restocking and parts ordering
Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety procedures
Perform general store, shipping, receiving and counter duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Senior Store Man
Maintain warehouse and shop in an orderly manner
Participate in on-call and overtime as required
Perform other duties as assigned
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 6 months’ experience working in services or manufacturing shop, or warehouse working on mechanical equipment, engines, pumps, or mechanical assemblies, associated or used in the oil and gas, power, water, industrial application
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care
Undergo Periodic fitness for duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications will be required for onshore/offshore remote location assignments
