Role Summary:
Perform essential duties and responsibility in central-service area, which include performing X-ray NDT (non-destructive testing) on products under approved / active certification.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :


  • Comply with established / documented policies, procedure, and work instructions
  • Evaluate product for weld, braze and / or casting for discontinuities exceeding requirements specified
  • Work with X-Ray generating equipment under strict EH&S requirements
  • Perform and records results regarding set-up, statistical data, operation, calibration, Process Control Checks, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Develop techniques for approval (X-ray), interpret, evaluate and report evaluation results
  • Maintain recurrent certification in accordance with established instructions and systems / applications, including purchase of corrective eyewear and PPE
  • Participate in activities supporting Safety / Lean / Quality initiatives
  • Work to prioritized schedules
  • Train and work at multiple-sites to support multi-skilling / cross-training and operations support
  • Understanding of blueprints (location coordination of print points, understand and apply print notes referenced in documented work instructions, etc.)
  • Produce error free work results
  • Meet production goals
  • Work with minimal coaching in a team environment
  • Submit to, pass, and maintain passing test results required by FAA D&A program
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications/Requirements:
    High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

    Note : Following must be presented and / or be completed by applicant, and then be verified by site Responsible NDT Level III before job offer can be presented and accepted

    NDT DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC

  • Documents signed by applicants current responsible NDT Level III
  • Log / Summary of hours, clearly indicating associated NDT method(s)
  • Certification letter, clearly indicating associated NDT method(s)
  • Copy of diploma where current training records indicate were used to offset classroom training hours
  • Copy of current STATE-OF OHIO IRRSP card (may be waived by Unison NDT Responsible Level under certain circumstances)
  • Complete a site NDT General Exam prescribed by site NDT procedure AL-022
  • Vision screening record indicating 20 / 20 near-vision in at least one-eye, with mild and severe color vision
  • Successfully obtain site NDT Level 2 X-RAY Certification within 18-months from date of employment

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :


  • Work overtime as needed
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand at least 6 to 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to work with upper-body extremities
  • Must be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis without assistance
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 30 pounds on occasion with assistance
  • Submit to, pass, and maintain passing test results required by FAA D&A program

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Exposure to moving high speed machinery and / or mechanical parts
  • Employee will be required to use approved chemicals and may be exposed to dust, fumes, or smoke from normal machining operations (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL)
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
