As Lead Modeling Systems Engineer at GE Aviation's world-class EPISCenter you'll have full responsibility for modeling / simulation of an electrical power system.
In this key role, you will:
Lead and support modeling / simulation of electrical power systems for civil and military aviation
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years of experience in physics based modeling practices (Including, knowledge in MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS or similar modeling environment; Modeling experience / knowledge in the interaction between electrical machines, power converters, and their control loops)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based real-time simulation
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
Minimum of 5 years of experience in physics based modeling practices and demonstrated knowledge in MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS or similar modeling environment
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Solid oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
