Role Summary:
The North America Geoscience and Petroleum Engineering (GPE) group aligns their business to integrate with their Operations Geomarket organization.  In general, the integration is across all product lines with a strong emphasis on Wireline and Logging While Drilling (LWD).
The GPE Real-Time Services Lead position is located within the North America organization and reports to the Directors of GPE North America Land and Offshore.
The role works closely with its subject matter experts and GPE Lead peers in Petro physics, G&G, Engineering and Cased Hole to develop and grow the Geomarket’s business. In addition, the GPE Real-Time Services Lead has a close relationship to the Drilling Services Sales and Operations teams, supporting the application of field services as well as explaining and delivering Reservoir Navigation Services (RNS), Real-Time Pore Pressure Prediction (RTPPP) and integrated answer products to Baker Hughes a GE company’s (BHGE) clients.
A high degree of drive and project life cycle knowledge is required to become a proactive partner of the Geomarket’s multiple product line businesses.
This challenging role is situated in a market place that ranges from a transactional, fast turn-around land business, to high-value detail-oriented offshore operations. Within that environment the role displays a high degree of competency from unconventional to offshore resources.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • The position focuses on delivering Real-Time Services (RNS and RTPPP) answer products, as well as being a trusted advisor to BHGE clients.
  • Manages a team of geoscientists and reservoir navigation engineers committed to:
  • Reservoir navigation
  • Real-time pore pressure prediction
  • Develops and grows company business in the region, through market understanding and collaboration with business segments (primarily Drilling Services).
  • Liaises and communicates with clients, as a subject matter expert, to advise them on RNS and RTPPP matters and optimal data acquisition programs. Develops strong professional relationships with current and potential clients, with a view of establishing BHGE as the preferred resource for their real-time needs.
  • Presents analyses and interpretation reports.   
  • Assists sales and operations groups in:
  • Creation of bids, pre-job planning, job execution and post-job support
  • Development and delivery of focused sales presentations
  • Mentors and develops junior geoscientists:
  • Reviews and assists in analysis, to ensure quality and consistency of results
  • Continuous training and skills development
  • Manages career development plans for the team
  • Provides Real-Time Services input to multi-disciplinary projects, within GPE, and with other business segments in the company.
  • Collaborates with Product Line Management and with the BHGE Technology Center, on the continued evolution of new Real-Time Services techniques and technologies.
  • Assists Global Geoscience and Marketing Teams in development of acquisition and application quality guidelines and deliverables. 
  • Involves him/herself in the knowledge community through professional societies and forums to understand industry directions as well as the suitability of BHGE’s measurements, products and services.
  • Demonstrates compliance to company policies, for the entire team, including HSE compliance.
  • 10 years of industry experience in Drilling and/or Real-Time Services operations.
  • Possesses a clear understanding of the oil & gas upstream value chain and client drivers
  • Worked in field operations for an operator or large oilfield services company
  • Is able to create and quality control end-user deliverables
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and network across complex organizations and disciplines
  • Has managed diverse and multi-cultural teams
  • Has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Has the ability to negotiate towards win-win situations and find progressing opportunities
  • Is able to travel about 20% of time
