Role Summary: As a Director of a software engineering, you will apply your knowledge of people leadership, software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to transform and deliver outcomes to GE Digital. This specific position will manage a team of software engineers that focus on both platforms and system level integrations for an enterprise portfolio of identity and access management solutions.
Demonstrate very strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product development and successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution
Responsible for building a world class software development team
Responsible to aligning with cross-functional service team owners to understand initiatives and implementations
Deliver application and services to validate and ensure the portfolio meets all operational standards
Manage strategic business partnerships and relationships through Technical, Financial, Contractual and Relationship Management
Own and manage the multiple rapid prototyping and product development budgets
Coach, mentor and lead a diverse group of lean/agile software and user experience engineers
Work with product owners across the businesses to understand market needs & vision; quickly translate that vision into demonstrable software
Work with product owners and architects to develop multi-generation software technology plans
Work directly with customers to understand business and technical needs
Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse
Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities
Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables
Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
Plan and manage budgets related to scope of team
Communicate effectively both within immediate team and GE leadership. Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 10 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across product lines.

Proficient with Agile or Lean Software development
Experience in building and administering identity and access management products
Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and coding principles
Hands-on experience with DevOps and automation frameworks (e.g. Chef)
Hands-on experience in web services (REST, SOAP, OAuth etc.), and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS technologies
Proven ability to scale applications horizontally with an engineering team
Proven ability to provide leadership, technology guidance and mentorship to others throughout their domain
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organization
