Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for test creation, testing a large module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. Own large sized tasks or small projects and deliver QE artifacts. Manages deliverables and mentors junior team members. Contribute in driving initiatives such as defining coding standards and processes to ensure quality code is produced. Appropriately reuse existing code wherever possible; drives same behaviors across team while coaching other developers to improve their code quality. Develop and enhance the test infrastructure and continuous integration framework used across teams at the COE. Determine testing best practices and principals and promote them across the organization. Serve as an expert in developing and executing maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases. Develop code for other developers to learn from. Integrate project testing with continuous-integration process. Work with fellow team members to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions. Provide functional and technical expertise in bug fixes. Act as an expert in the quality engineering, manage test plans and testing methodology for software projects. Use test automation techniques (data driven, pairwise, mocking, test hooks) that fit the problem space. Design and code for testability to produce quality code with the lowest cost.
Qualifications/Requirements: The primary requirements are a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors [Science, Technology, Engineering (any) and Math], and 5 years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor’s degree experience in related occupation. Alternatively, a Masters degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors [Science, Technology, Engineering (any) and Math], and 3 years of experience in related occupation is acceptable. The position also requires: 2 years experience with automated testing tools and/or frameworks such as UFT or Selenium; 2 years experience reading and interpreting code such as .Net, Java, VB, Ruby, or Python; 3 years experience writing reports and procedures and presenting information and responding to questions from peers, developers and managers; 3 years experience with test procedures, acceptance criteria and requirements; 3 years experience working in an Agile software environment; 3 years experience in a global and/or virtual team.
