Role Summary: How would you like to ensure that our military pilots fly higher, further, and faster than their adversaries? By inventing materials and coating system technologies for state of the art military engines, the Special Military Projects team ensures that our military pilots fly higher, further, and faster than their adversaries. EMS has an opening for an Advanced Lead Engineer where you can develop your career and provide our military with an unfair advantage over the competition.
In addition, you will :
Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
Document and communicate results of technical data generated
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Masters Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 7 years of work experience in industry working with advanced ceramics, composites, and / or coatings
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Doctorate in Chemistry, Physics, Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience working with advanced ceramics, composites, and / or coatings
Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Experience with CMC's, PMC's, coatings processing and characterization
Experience with ceramic precursors
Experience with quantitative and qualitative analytical chemistry methods including XRD, SEMEDS, TGA / DTA, and ICP-MS
Experience with optical, magnetic, fuel cell materials, or polymeric based materials
Experience with advanced coating technologies such as chemical vapor deposition or sputtering
