Role Summary: Responsible for managing and maintaining the regional business strategy on a focus area of compliance (e.g. ITC, IPP). Shall be accountable for both advising and enforcing GEHC policies and procedures covering the regulation of the focus area within the region.
Essential Responsibilities: In control for providing support to the GE Healthcare business on a variety of legal and compliance issues and transactions, including, potential conflicts of interest, high risk payments, appropriate segregation of duties, transparency requirements for relationships with health care professionals (“HCPs”), and compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute and corporate governance matters. 1. Acting as a business partner by applying combined legal and compliance judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring review and attention. Works with various functional teams, as well as legal counsels within the region to identify, assess and develop action plans with respect to focused risk areas. 2. Highlighting and resolving improper payments concerns, segregation of duties questions, conflicts of interest, Anti-Kickback concerns, high risk payments, and HCP transparency requirements. 3. Develop and deliver targeted focus area training to business leaders, operational teams and others. 4. Contribute to acquisition integration efforts from a regional area perspective. 5. Benchmark best practices with respect to focus areas for the regional business.
Qualifications/Requirements: Quality Specific Goals: 1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position. 2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines. 3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required. 1. 3 years’ experience in a corporate or healthcare-related environment. 2. Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast-paced environment. 3. Advanced English and Japanese skills. 4. Executive communication and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Desired Characteristics: 1. Preference for experience including legal and compliance review of complex business and/or healthcare relationships, familiarity with Anti-Kickback Statute, HCP transparency requirements, Improper Payments and High-Risk Transactions, and analysis of potential Conflicts of Interest. 2. Experience in the healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical device or pharmaceutical regulations.
