Role Summary: Working as part of an integrated global team, in this position you will be in charge for gears and bearings advanced design and technology integration, with the aim at supporting GBX product evolution and preliminary design activities for future programs. You will also support the technology maturation of those components, activating and executing advanced FastWorks demos through a range of subscale and full scale rigs and setting the way for GPB definition and execution.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:
Execute technical feasibility studies and concept design of mechanical transmission components for next engine opportunities (NGNB, NGTP/TS, Hybrid systems)
Execute detailed design of GBX components for test vehicles and technology maturation needs
Conduct design optimization to meet customer requirements and/or test intent
Assess technology insertion and contribute to execute gears and bearings tech mat plan
Support preliminary design activities such as system/product definition and Engine level architectures trade offs for next gen architectures studies
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated across the Fastworks phases consistency with engineering policies and procedures
Support technical and program reviews
Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to the extended team
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations
Have strong engineering outlook, hands-on engineering foundation and eager to learn
Clear thinking and diligent approach
English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
EU work permit
Creativity and curiosity
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Good knowledge of FE analysis and optimization tools
Familiarity with CAD software (Unigraphics or other commercial CAD software)
