Role Summary: The Software Engineer will join an Agile multi-functional Cyber Security development team to build custom solutions for GE's Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT). You will have opportunities to work with other passionate engineers with a wide array of experiences and talent and a forum to display your own.
Essential Responsibilities: You will be responsible for programming feature sets and interfaces of security applications. You will contribute to the team by working according to directions and guidance provided by Senior Team Members or management as well as independently.
A successful candidate will collaborate with mission-based, expert teams to build innovative security solutions that enable continuous adoption to modern cyber-security threats.
Writes codes that meets standards and delivers desired functionality
Implement solutions that are aligned with the organizational goals
Participate in sprint planning and estimations
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or equivalent industry experience or strong IT experience working with AWS native services (Kinesis, Lambda, RDS)
Proven experience writing application code in at least one high-level object oriented language (i.e. Python, Java, Ruby)
Understanding of security concepts like incident response, secure programing
Experience with version control systems (such as Git)
Seeks to understand problems thoroughly before implementing solutions.
Asks questions to clarify requirements when ambiguities are present
Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
Experience with Cyber security tools and processes is a plus
