Role Summary: Avio Aero is reinforcing the focus to excellence in aeronautical Mechanical Transmissions with particular focus on power applications (turboprop and helicopter power gearboxes). In this spirit, we are looking for a talented and experienced engineer, expected to perform design activities related to aeronautical mechanical power transmission components.
Essential Responsibilities: The Mechanical Transmission Design Lead Engineer will follow the whole new product introduction process from concept design to product detailed definition, certification and initial production support. He/she will utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals. In particular he/she will:
Provide and strengthen technical knowledge expertise in aeronautical power gearbox components
Develop sub-system and components design to achieve the performance, generating alternatives and down-selecting optimal solutions
Proactively support and coordinate activities with other departments and suppliers (e.g. concurrence design)
Contribute to and participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
Issue the technical documents relative to the components design according to engineering policies and procedures
Support source technological substantiation and MRB activities
Support activities related to development and fielded components performance and investigations
Use of design tools: CAD as Unigraphics NX , and CAE as Nastran, Ansys and in-house S/Ws.
Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
Previous proven experience in mechanical design of complex products, preferably in aeronautical power gearboxes
