Role Summary: Avio Aero, a GE Aviation business, is reinforcing the focus to excellence in Reduction Gearbox Systems. In this spirit, we are looking for a talented engineer, expected to perform as Components Design Lead Engineer of Reduction Gearbox’s Housings.
Essential Responsibilities: Working as part of an integrated team focused on Reduction Gearbox New Product Introduction, you will be in charge for Housings mechanical design, supporting specific product requirement evolution and design activities across whole process from concept design up to entry into service. You will transversally support housing development across new Reduction Gearbox programs, leading specific Reduction Gearbox specific requirements and component technologies. In particular, in this role you will:
Capture and understand Reduction Gearbox systems requirements and flow down system requirements to housing components definition and validation needs
Support technical feasibility studies and concept design of Reduction Gearbox modules for next engine opportunities
Execute detailed design of Housing components across whole New Product Introduction process for Reduction Gearbox systems.
Define component technical specifications and manage relevant work packages
Discuss with the Customers supporting Module Designer in Product Definition (geometrical and functional interfaces, engine Digital Assembly trade studies, …)
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated across the fastworks phases consistency with engineering policies and procedures
Support technical and program reviews.
Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical/ Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
Experience in Mechanical Design of complex products and Housings design, preferably acquired in the sector of Reduction Gearboxes (Helicopters and Propeller Gearboxes)
Mechanical design knowledge in terms of both components and system design
Clear thinking and diligent approach
English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral
Good interpersonal and communication skills
EU work permit
Capability to work in multicultural environment, preferably previous New Product Introduction process experience
Knowledge of Transmission Housings technical requirements, design solutions, technologies
Knowledge of CAD design tools (Unigraphics NX environment, Catia)
Knowledge of FE analysis tools
Curiosity and passion for mechanic design
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Passionate and enthusiastic for engineering challenges
