Role Summary: Working as part of an integrated global team, you will be in charge for LPT mechanical design of components and modules integration, supporting LPT product evolution and preliminary design activities for future programs. You will support the maturation of LPT technologies, leading specific technologies development and integration, activating and executing advanced Fastworks demos through a range of subscale and full scale rigs and setting the way for GPB definition and execution.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role you will:
Capture and understand future product’s system requirements and flow down system requirements to components definition and technology maturation needs
Define LPT components technology roadmap, develop and implement plans to meet technology readiness targets
Support technical feasibility studies and concept design of LPT modules for next engine opportunities (NGWB, NGNB, NGTP/TS, Hybrid systems)
Execute detailed design of LPT systems for test vehicles and technology maturation needs
Execute preliminary design activities such as system/product definition
Define technical specifications and manage relevant work packages
Support Engine level architectures trade offs for next gen architectures studies
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated across the fastworks phases consistency with engineering policies and procedures
Support technical and program reviews
Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical/ Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
Experience in Mechanical Design of complex products and LPT advanced technologies
Mechanical design knowledge in terms of both components and system design
Preferred previous experience in turbomachinery systems design
Clear thinking and diligent approach
English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral
Good interpersonal and communication skills
EU work permit
Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience
Knowledge of LPT technical requirements, design solutions, technologies
New Product Introduction process experience
Knowledge of CAD design tools (Unigraphics NX environment)
Knowldedge of FE analysis tools
Strong oral and written communication skills
Curiosity and passion for mechanic design
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Passionate, curious and enthusiastic for engineering challenges
