Role Summary: Responsible for testing a feature and or a small feature set. Contributes to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management; increasing the ability to work independently. Breaks down problems and estimates time for quality related tasks. Works independently and delivers testing and use case creation which meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Essential Responsibilities: -Serve as a technical expert on application development team mainly in testing & QA by owning medium-sized quality engineering tasks
-Cooperate with project teams to translate technical requirements into automated test solutions
-Implement automated solutions and testing for key software programs. Integrate project testing with continuous-integration process
-Drive, review and apply test engineering concepts and quality into project team road-maps and schedules
-Should be adept in scrum and agile practices and apply them in day-today's work
-Document test requirements, test plans, and test specifications in close collaboration with application project managers/product owner
-Investigate and debug complex application and test issues, Work with fellow team members to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions
-Develop and executes maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases
-Report and document system problems in software life cycle management tools
-Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
-Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the industry #DTR
Desired Characteristics: -Experience in test automation and database experience including basic design and SQL queries -Ability to write Java and JS code for the purposes of testing solution code (e.g., white-box testing). -Experience testing web services (SOAP/REST; Throughput, Performance under Load, etc.) -Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, etc. -Experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments. -Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure -Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, HP Load Runner and CI tools like Jenkins -Effective team building and problem-solving abilities -Strong communication and interpersonal skills
